Dr Clive Jones is a registered psychologist specialising in the assessment and treatment of mental health issues and disorders.
He conducts appointments on site at his Bundall office on the Gold Coast and also nationally/internationally via Skype.
Clive consults individuals, couples and families with referrals coming from General Medical Practitioners (GP's), Psychiatric wards, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), WorkCover, general word of mouth, community groups and also the elite sporting community, including the Queensland Academy of Sport and other elite sporting teams and squads.
Clive also provides regular professional development for General Medical Practitioners in Mental Health as an accredited professional development provider with the Royal Austraian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration (GPMHSC).

CONDITIONS TREATED include anxiety, depression, anorexia nervosa, PTSD, OCD, panic disorder, personality disorders (including BPD), suicidal ideation, self harming, issues of adjustment & coping, drug and alcohol abuse/addictions (incl. narcotics & amphetamines) and bereavement.
STRATEGIES OF APPROACH incorporate Cognitive therapy, CBT, motivational interviewing, Interpersonal therapy, narrative therapy and also a broader family systems model of approach when working with children and adolescents
SKILLS TRAINING & GROUP WORK (psycho-educational strategies) available in PARENT MANAGEMENT, RELATIONSHIPS, and other specialist areas including;
- Problem solving, anger management and stress management
- Social skills & Communication Skills (e.g. couples, families & parents)
Clive maintains his private practice while teaching psychology part time through his appointment as Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine at Bond University on the Gold Coast. He is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society's (APS) College of Counseling Psychologists and APS College of Sport & Exercise Psychologists. He is also a member of the International Society of Sport Psychology and and the International Association of Applied Psychology.

Medicare rebates are available for those referred by their General Medical Practitioner for specialist psychological services.

COST (based on a 50 minute consultation)
Concession Fee: Out of pocket cost after Medicare Rebate = $14.70 (Concession fee without Medicare Rebate = $99.50). Concession fee applies to health care card holders and pensioners.
Standard Full Fee: Out of pocket cost after Medicare Rebate = $55.20 (Full fee without Medicare Rebate = $140.00)
A referral from your local GP is required in order to obtain the Medicare Rebate for Mental Health Services. Appointments can be made without a referral if you do not intend to seek access to the Medicare rebate or if you prefer to use Private hesalth Insurance. Skype sessions do not receive a Medicare Rebate.
BULK BILLING AVAILABLE: No out of pocket cost is available only for exceptional circumstances prearranged through referral process by GP
While Private Health Cover does refund psychological services, if you are not seeking a Medicare Rebate, you need to contact your private health insurance for further details on this.
